I wanted something new, something to learn besides Java. I was intrigued by the thought of being able to write code and then run it without having to compile then deploy and after doing some comparison shopping with PHP, Perl, and Python I decided to go with PHP. Then after some further research about what to do about the website, I looked at Joomla, Drupal, and some others, Drupal got the winning vote.
