I'm still looking in this department. I have been trying out WebCollab for a bit but I need something that has a 'corrective action' type field. It might be easily customized but I have only been looking at what comes out-of-the-box.
WebCollab: I started a while (more than a year now) ago trying out some software that allowed me to keep track of some of my projects and WebCollab was one of those such tests. Well, I just recently came across it again and have decided to install it on this site, and although it is not yet installed it is in the process.
20071130: Today was a good day. I installed WebCollab at webcollab.katomi.com. The process was ...
- I installed WebCollab in a subdirectory of katomi.com just to refresh my memory of the process.
- I then created the webcollab.katomi.com sub-domain. Well, I didn't actually create the sub-domain, I just put in the request and the folks at eapps did the work - they really are a great group to work with.
- Next was the real test. I copied the WebCollab install from the previous steps to the new directory on the server and did a mysqldump of my dev version of the database to the public server where it was recreated. This was OK at first, but I actually wanted to rename the database so I dropped the database, changed a couple things in the dump file and re-created the database - again. This time it had the name that I wanted.
- I setup the premissions and navigated to the update.php file. This was because my dev version was v2.11 and the version I installed today was v2.20 - just a couple changes since I first installed it.
- After the update (and after I reset the premissions on the DB because there weren't any MySQL users after recreating the database) everything worked fine. WebCollab rocks!
